Our Mission: We strive to raise healthy, high quality Mini Rex Rabbits that are competitive at a national level. We work to offer the best stock and advice to new and established breeders. We promote raising and showing rabbits as a fun and rewarding family activity.
We started raising rabbits in 1976. We have been raising Mini Rex since 2001. We currently have a 65 cage barn in southwest Michigan. We are constantly working to improve the efficiency of our rabbit breeding operation toward the goal of raising healthy, winning show rabbits.
Sound management practices, a nutritious diet and a clean environment will allow our rabbits to reach their genetic potential.
We will be moving to a new home in the spring/summer of 2014. We're excited about continuing to modernize our breeding facility!
In 2012 we added an automatic watering system to our barn, in 2014 we will be building a new rabbit facility at our new home.
Dori Smith is in charge of the daily operation of Rose Arbor Rabbitry. She has had show rabbits since she was 16. Dori was the Superintendent of the Kalamazoo County 4-H Rabbit Program for many years. Dori has a personal mission to help new rabbit owners to have a successful experience.
Caroline Goodall will graduate from Michigan State University this May. She has been a national winning Youth exhibitor in the past and now is half of our new mother-daughter Open team. Caroline has won National Mini Rex titles for Sweepstakes, Quality Points and Varieties. She has won ARBA titles in Judging, Breed ID, Royalty, Management and Achievement.
She has won MANY Best of Breed and Best in Show titles with Rose Arbor rabbits! Even though she is not living at home any longer Caroline still enjoys checking out the new litters and making occasional cameo appearances at shows.
